History of Nix Implement Co., Inc.

Nix Implement Co., Inc. has been in the farm machinery business in West Texas for 70 years. It was started by Olin Nix, Sr. in 1939 as a sideline to his motor company. In earlier years he had bought and sold mules to farm with, along with farming. When he sold his car dealership to his son Dennis in 1950, he devoted full time to farm machinery, selling many lines of new and used equipment. A family tradition that has been handed down through the years is that their word is their bond. In 1958 his son, Garland, bought into the business and continued to operate it until his death in 2005. Olin Nix passed away in 1981 and Garland assumed sole ownership until his son, Ron, joined him in 1988. Ron bought the business from Garland in 1996 and continues to operate it today. Through the years the inventory has grown to stay abreast of West Texas farmers needs.
